![]() Yokoyama and Sakamoto continue to claim to have had no idea at all that people might also want Kenzan! in the west … which I find baffling as I feel like every English comment I’ve seen on Japanese RGG Studio tweets in recent years has been asking for both those games …Īnyway, Famitsu already covered why they don’t want to do Kenzan!, but Yokoyama elaborated a bit on that in a couple more of the interviews. The overseas fandom was also a major factor in choosing Ishin! to be remade, as it was never released outside of Japan, and the fans had been asking for it ever since it first came out nine years ago. Particularly of note is the revelation that the overseas fandom now represents “almost 70% already” of the total (Gamer). It’s funny, because when I started translating this kind of stuff they would hardly ever mention overseas (and almost never the west) but now it’s right up there. One of the major topics in the interviews was the overseas fandom. (A couple of years, it turns out! How time flies …) ![]() ![]() Picture credit: Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio official Twitter from Famitsu ( part 1, part 2), Yokoyama and Sakamoto were interviewed by several other Japanese outlets (and international ones - more on that later) at TGS. Obviously there’s a lot of repetition in the questions and answers, so there wouldn’t be much point doing full translations of all of them, even if I had the time or inclination! But they all have some different questions or different angles on similar questions, so I thought I’d do a round up post, for the first time in a while. ![]()
